Kaz and Paul, East Yorkshire

After downsizing, Kaz was looking to create an extra room in the garden to provide a flexible, multipurpose outdoor space.

Kaz really appreciated the look of the E-Spaces designs in comparison to many of the other typical, boxy garden rooms that were on the market. She found the overall finish incredibly appealing and liked how she could choose from a range of materials to get a look that would perfectly fit the surroundings of her new build house.

It became clear to her that the quality of materials and the attention to detail in the manufacturing process really made it stand out as a product, so she contacted the design team to see how she could personalise her options.

After a series of meetings with the design team (face-to-face or online meetings are available free of charge as part of the process) Kaz had firmed up her overall idea of what specification she was looking for.

The design team had shown her the design drawings, but more importantly had been able to render the E-Space design into photographs of her garden. This allowed her to consider the orientation and the best place to site her room. Better still, the design software provided an understanding of where the sun would be as it moved across the sky. Once the location had been confirmed, this encouraged Kaz to upgrade from a single door to a 2m wide set of French doors to maximise that natural light.

In addition to the French door, Kaz had considered an upgrade from the standard base, to a heavy duty galvanised steel base. This would provide a greater life span for the product, but also allow the flexibility of having the unit winched up and carried away should they decide to move again or sell it on.

Kaz enjoys using the garden room as social space with her husband and finds it a perfect space for having drinks with friends and neighbours. The ability to share the outdoors and fresh air, while still having a warm insulated space makes it a great place to chat with friends.

Additionally, Kaz is a keen crafter and loves how she can keep all of her materials contained and away from the house.

Of course, unlike other outdoor storage solutions, there are no issues with items getting cold or damp. The domestic standard UPVC double glazing contains air vents to make sure that there is a constant source of air. Plus, the nature of the curved design allows a natural convection as the WiFi heater warms the air and it rises up the curved walls and along the ceiling.

Kaz talks about how she fully appreciates the fact that this is such a multi-functional space and can see herself spending more time creating an outdoor bar and reception area around her E-Space.
